Every wondered what makes Standard English standard or what impact war has on literature? Curious about how books reflect culture or how technology has changed writing? You can discover all of that and more at the Grand Opening of Macomb’s new Reading and Writing Studios on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Here to support you with all of your reading and writing assignments, the studios are located in the South and Center Campus libraries. The grand opening at Center will be kicked off in the Auditorium – C101 by President James Jacobs at 9 a.m., followed by a panel discussion on Language and Change featuring a panel of writing experts. Provost James Sawyer will kick off the grand opening at South on the second floor of
J Building at 1 p.m., followed by a poetry reading/discussion of publishing literature in an international war zone by an Arab American National Museum curator.
There will also be refreshments, interactive displays, one-on-one consultations for students and drawings for a Galaxy Tablet and bookstore gift certificates throughout the day. Learn more now!
