For children, cardboard boxes provide an outlet for creativity and imagination. For the homeless, however, they are shelter of a last resort. Student Life & Leadership office is again offering Macomb students the opportunity to channel their inner child while experiencing homelessness from the inside out.
The fifth annual Cardboard Box City will be built on Macomb’s South Campus Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can “rent” a cardboard box home for the day by donating non-perishable food items. The more items donated, the bigger the house. Pool your creativity and resources with friends and build a mansion of understanding about homelessness in our community, while stocking the shelves of Macomb’s Food for Thought food pantry for students.
