Okay I tried. I wanted to come up with a name for this student blog that was a little quirky, quick to read and identifiable with Macomb, that would be the M. I was also trying to stretch my tech creds by using the lingo of the cyber-world, where bytes refers to information tied into neat little bundles that are easy to compute. But, perhaps, my effort fell several gigabytes short of brilliant.
Some, I recently discovered, have been snickering at the name Mbytes and not so gently inquiring about the IQ of the individual who came up with it. Others have bluntly pointed out that it sounds like a derogatory slam against the College uttered by an unhappy student.
So what do you think? Is Mbytes a do or a don’t? And, if you fall into the second camp, would you kindly suggest an alternative? We are getting ready to move this blog to MyMacomb in December and I want it all pretty when it gets there. Any thoughts?
